Meritas

Meritas is an association of more than 200 quality law firms located in all fifty states and on six continents, including every major country in the world. It was formed to provide ready access to comprehensive, cost-effective legal services and multi-jurisdictional capabilities. Membership is based upon strict admission criteria, and all firms have received the highest possible rating from Martindale-Hubbell or a comparable international rating institution. A peer evaluation is conducted of any candidate firm. Once admitted, each firm subscribes to a code of ethics requiring delivery of legal services in a competent, prompt, and diligent manner.

Although each firm is entirely independent, Meritas provides to its member firms the diverse knowledge and resources of more than 4,000 lawyers worldwide. Members cooperate to avoid costly duplication and to make available research and other non-confidential materials to other member firms and their clients. Meritas policies include provision of legal services in a cost-efficient manner, discussion of alternative dispute resolution procedures when applicable, and provision of continuing legal education to all lawyers.

Our membership in Meritas allows our clients with needs in other jurisdictions to have ready access to counsel with proven reliability. Where a multi-jurisdictional legal effort is needed, our firm can easily cooperate with a firm located in another state or country to provide maximum benefit to the client.
