Four Cantey Hanger Attorneys Selected Rising Stars

Fort Worth, Texas – Four Cantey Hanger attorneys have been recognized as “Texas Rising Stars” for 2018 by Texas Super Lawyers. The state list is in the March publication of Texas Monthly magazine.

The four, their law schools, and the practice areas for which they were recognized are:

  • Christopher A. Klement, Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, Bankruptcy, business;
  • Derek Carson, The University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, Business litigation;
  • David Speed, Texas A&M University School of Law (formerly Texas Wesleyan University School of Law), Construction litigation; and,
  • Philip A. Vickers, The University of Texas School of Law, Business litigation.

Klement and Carson are first-time honorees. Speed and Vickers are multiple repeat honorees.

To be eligible for inclusion as a Rising Star, a candidate must be 40 years old or younger, or in practice 10 years or less. Fewer than 2.5 percent of those eligible are named to the Rising Stars list. An independent rating service specializing in legal services qualifies the candidates, who are judged in 12 areas of professional achievement.
