Cantey Hanger was retained in a case for the S. B. Burnett Estate, jointly with the Brown Herman firm, against the City of Fort Worth to stop the City from using a certain property for a city building. The dispute arose out of language restricting future use of the property. S. B. Burnett’s donation required that the land be “used as a park.” The case was tried and appealed, with the appellate courts holding for the Burnett interests, and stopped the City from using the property for a different purpose.
Today Burnett Park, celebrates its 100th Anniversary. Thanks Cantey Hanger!
