Derek Carson Joins Cantey Hanger

Former Law Clerk for U.S. District Judge

FORT WORTH, TX. (Oct. 7, 2013) – Derek Carson, Law Clerk for The Honorable Terry R. Means, U.S. District Judge, Northern District of Texas, Fort Worth Division the past three years, has joined Cantey Hanger LLP as an associate. He will focus his practice within the firm’s general litigation section.

Carson graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Union University in Jackson, TN. He received his Juris Doctor from The University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, where he served as Managing Editor of The University of Memphis Law Review.

He is admitted to practice in Tennessee and Texas and before the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

His community activities have been varied and extensive. Carson most recently has volunteered with the Day Resource Center for the Homeless. Previously, he was a family volunteer with World Relief in Fort Worth. While in Tennessee, he was a mentor and tutor for high schools, a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society and the North American Food Drive, assisted in hurricane relief efforts in Sulfur, LA, during 2005 and traveled to Orphanage Emmanuel in Guaimaca, Honduras during March 2004.
