Labor & Employment Group adds 3 attorneys and paralegal

FORT WORTH, Tx – AttorneysDavid Fielding, Partner, Frank Parker, Partner, Laura Hallmon, Partner, and paralegal, Eileen Cummo, have joined the Labor & Employment practice group of Cantey Hanger LLP.

Fielding has practiced labor and employment law for 42 years, and Hallmon joined The Law Offices of David Fielding in 1999 upon graduation. She became a partner with the firm in 2005.

“The addition of David, Frank and Laura will strengthen the firm’s labor and employment expertise to a wide variety of clients and future clients,” said Jordan Parker, a partner and Chairman of the firm’s Litigation Section.

Fielding’s practice focus since passing the bar in 1974 has been in the areas of employment law, civil rights law, labor/management relations, wage and hour law, occupational safety and health law, and in the law of restrictive covenants prohibiting competition. He is a requested and recognized lecturer on sexual harassment in the workplace. He is a 1971 graduate of Texas Tech University and he received his law degree in 1973 from The University of Texas at Austin School of Law. Fielding is a member of the American Bar Association, the Tarrant County Bar Association, the American Board of Trial Advocates and the National Employment Lawyer’s Association. He has been AV-rated by Martindale Hubbell for over 35 years and is consistently awarded “Top Attorney” and “Super Lawyer” recognition in employment law by various periodicals around the state.

In the community, he has been a board member of Senior Citizens Services of Greater Tarrant County (President, 1983-1984), Fort Worth-Tarrant County Young Lawyer’s Association (President, 1984), Fort Worth Zoning Commission (Chairman 1987-1988), Food Bank of Tarrant County , Mental Health Association of Tarrant County, the Fort Worth Women’s Center, Tarrant County Mental Health Housing Development Corporation (President since its inception), the Tarrant County Housing Partnership, and the Employment Committee of the Fort Worth Human Relations Commission.

Parker has been involved with and focused on labor-management relations for more than 50 years, first as chief executive officer of a large local union for 10 years, and then as manager of industrial relations for a major oil company before attending law school.

Upon graduation he commenced his practice of labor law on behalf of employers and he has worked in 49 states and several foreign countries.

Parker earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Indiana University, and a Master’s and Juris Doctor from Texas Tech University in 1976. He was chairperson of the Fort Worth chapter of the Texas Association of Business for a term and served on that organization’s State Board. He also served several terms as vice president of the Texas AFL-CIO.

Hallmon strives to offer her clients practical solutions to a variety of legal issues, focusing her practice on the prosecution and defense of a variety of state and federal employment law matters, including the areas of civil rights law, federal sector employment law, wage and hour law and the law of restrictive covenants prohibiting competition.  She represents employees and employers, large and small, a practice she says affords her a rich and balanced understanding of the challenges that arise in the modern work place.

 She is a 1996 graduate of Baylor University and received her Juris Doctor from Baylor University School of Law in 1999. Hallmon is admitted to practice before each of the U.S. District Courts for the four Districts of Texas as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Hallmon is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell and has been named a “Top Attorney” in Fort Worth and Tarrant County, Texas, by Fort Worth, Texas magazine. She has been a member of the American and Tarrant County Bar Associations since 1999, serving on the Board of Officers for the Labor and Employment Law Section of the Tarrant County Bar Association from 2002-2006 (Chair from 2005-2006), and the Board of Officers for the Women’s Section of the Tarrant County Bar Association from 2001-2006 (Chair from 2005-2006). She was an Associate Member of the Eldon B. Mahon American Inn of Court in 2002-2003 and is a Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.

Hallmon served on the Tarrant County National Adoption Day Committee from 2002-2004, was a member of the 2007-2008 class of Leadership Fort Worth, and has served as a member of the Junior League of Arlington since 2009 and the Institutional Review Boards for Baylor Health Care System’s Research Institute since 2013.

Eileen Cummo has been a paralegal for 28 years after earning a Bachelor’s degree in English and an Associate’s degree in paralegal studies. After having worked for several litigation offices in Fort Worth, she began working with Fielding in 1996. She has been Board Certified in Civil Trial Law through the State Bar of Texas since 1994 and has been a member of the State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division throughout her career.
