Casey O’Neill is a seasoned litigator and West Point graduate whose military service as a combat helicopter pilot shapes his approach to client advocacy. After graduating from the United States Military Academy in 2001, Casey served more than seven years as a commissioned officer in the U.S. Army’s Aviation branch. As a UH-60 Blackhawk pilot-in-command, he completed two combat deployments in Operation Iraqi Freedom, earning Air Medal and Joint Service Commendation Medal and other honors for his service. These experiences instilled a proven ability to perform under pressure, make decisive judgments, and execute mission-focused strategies; skills he now applies daily to protect client interests in the courtroom and beyond.
Casey focuses his practice on civil litigation, with particular emphasis on complex civil litigation, including disputes concerning breach of contract, intellectual property, unfair competition, real property, and oil and gas. He helps businesses resolve commercial conflicts, enforce or defend contractual agreements, safeguard their intellectual property, and navigate competitive challenges that threaten operations or market position. Whether litigating in state or federal court, prosecuting trademarks, or counseling clients on risk mitigation, Casey delivers practical, results-oriented counsel tailored to each client’s goals.
Clients value Casey’s disciplined, systematic approach and his ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable strategies. His military-honed perspective on leadership, risk assessment, and mission success equips him to guide businesses through challenging disputes and help them achieve long-term objectives with confidence. Prior to joining Cantey Hanger, Casey gained valuable experience at respected Texas firms and as in-house counsel for UnitedHealth Group. He earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center in 2011.
