Notification of Data Security Incident

[August 2, 2024] – On February 22, 2024, Cantey Hanger experienced a network disruption that impacted certain systems. Upon discovery, we took immediate action to address and investigate the event, which included engaging third-party specialists to assist with determining the full nature and scope of the event. A thorough investigation determined that limited information maintained on the network may have been accessed by an unauthorized actor. We then began a thorough review of the contents of the data in order to determine the type(s) of information contained within the impacted dataset and to whom that information related.

The types of information contained within the affected data may have included first and last name, in combination with one or more of the following: passport number, Social Security number, driver’s license number, bank account information, payment card information, health insurance information, and/or medical information. Importantly, the potentially impacted information varies for each individual and may include all or just one of the above-listed types of information.

At this time, there is no evidence indicating any information was subject to actual or attempted fraudulent misuse as a result of this incident. In an abundance of caution, we performed a thorough review of the affected information to identify and subsequently notify all potentially affected individuals.

We have taken the steps necessary to address the event and are committed to fully protecting all of the information entrusted to the firm. Upon learning of this event, we immediately took steps to secure the environment and undertook a thorough investigation.
